WEATHER KTA MAPOVERSIZED VEHICLES CONSTRUCTION UPDATES

Construction Updates
The Kansas Turnpike currently has the following construction projects underway:

Sedgwick County, MP 50-53: Due to construction near Greenwich Road in Wichita, adjacent to the Turnpike, there is a 10-foot width restriction between the East Wichita (MP 50) and the K-96 (MP 53) interchanges. This is in effect through mid-November 2010.

Pavement Replacement Project, MP 204 - 210: The Kansas Turnpike Authority will be replacing a six-mile section of original pavement between Mileposts 204-210. This project will cause one-lane closures in each direction between June 7 and November 12, 2010. The project will begin again in the Spring of 2011, with a final completion dates of late Fall of 2011. Please note: A 10-foot width restriction is in effect for I-70/Turnpike between KTA's Bonner Springs (MP 224) and Lecompton (MP 197) interchanges.

Chase County, MP 96 - 112: An asphalt overlay in this area will cause intermittent, temporary one-lane closures between May 1 and August 31, 2010.

Sumner County, MP 13 - 27: An asphalt overlay in this area will cause intermittent, temporary one-lane closures between April 19 and August 31, 2010.

Kansas River Bridges and Plaza Improvement Project: The new westbound bridge over the Kansas River in Lawrence is now open and carrying all traffic. The existing original bridges are being removed to make room for the new eastbound bridge. Travelers through this area should be aware of increased construction vehicles and personnel. Effective June 17, 2010, a 10-foot width restriction is active for westbound traffic between the KTA's Bonner Springs (MP 224) and Lecompton (MP 197) interchanges on I-70.
